Explore the intersections of rhetoric, anthropology, and philosophy through the lens of hip-hop music. This dynamic six-week course will delve into the rich cultural tapestry of hip-hop, using iconic songs and verses to analyze themes of identity, social justice, and existential inquiry. Through engaging discussions, creative activities, and critical analysis, students will enhance their competencies in rhetoric, anthropology, and philosophy while gaining a deeper understanding of contemporary society. Come prepared to write and perform Raps to the best of your ability. There will be a significant amount of class time designated for writing sessions.
